Introducing: Hatsuden Nabe, The Fire Powered USB Generator 

The Hatsuden Nabe (roughly translated as electricity producing pan), uses thermo-electric technology to convert heat energy into electrical energy and charges USB devices.

At the heart of the Hatsuden Nabe is a thermoelectric generator module (TEG). A TEG is a device that creates a voltage when there is a different temperature on each side of the device. This TEG is made with materials developed in Japan for recovering waste heat in industrial applications and is capable of operation at extremely high temperatures, like found in a wood camp fire.

Attached to the Hatsuden Nabe is a cable with a black box housing indicator LEDs and a 5 Volt regulator controlling the output voltage via one USB-A female connector.

• Water must be inside the pan during operation. Always keep the pan filled at least 1/3 with water or the thermoelectric generator module will be permanently damaged.
• Clean the inside of the pan by hand and do not submerge in water. The bottom of the pan housing the TEG module is not waterproof and should never be exposed to water.
• Check the devices you intend to power for charge current requirements.

How the Kelly Kettle® works:

The Kelly Kettle® (aka Volcano Kettle®) will boil water in 3 to 5 minutes depending on the fuel you're using. Made from Aluminum or Stainless Steel, it is essentially a double walled chimney with the water contained in the chimney wall. (We currently only offer the more durable Stainless Steel models)

Once the kettle is filled with water, simply start a very small fire in the base, set the kettle on the base and drop additional fuel (twigs, leaves, grass, paper, etc.) down the chimney. The large internal surface area of the chimney heats the water very quickly. When the water boils, hold the Handle at an angle of 90° to the Kettle - then lift the Kettle clear of the base. To pour, lift it by the handle and tilt it using the cork chain.

If additional water is required, simply refill the kettle with water and place it back on the base when the fire is still burning. Refill the chimney with fuel and you can look forward to a second kettle full of boiling water within a matter of minutes. Kelly Kettles work in even the most extreme weather conditions - in fact, they work even better in wind.

Although it is called a Kettle, the Kelly Kettle is more than just a water boiling device. We offer several accessories that allow the user to harness exhaust heat from the kettle to cook food with. A cross style pan support is available that sits in the chimney on top of the kettle, or to cook faster, you can remove the main kettle body and place a two half circle grill sections into the top of the bowl and place a pan directly on top of the fire.
